Newest pics!

I love all the funny faces baby Eska makes. I love that she is about the size of my big ole' shoe. I love that Charlie was my teeny-tiny and now he is a goshdarn giant--I guess your youngest child will always look teeny tiny. I love that we bought fireworks from one of those random stands on the 5th and it was all 1/2 off so we had a little 5th of July party in the backyard. I know that tummy-sleeping is super controversial, but for little catnaps with me right next to her the entire time, boy does she seem to like it! Plus I get to crack up at her funny little bum sticking up in the air and her curled-up froggy legs! Hope you are all having a good holiday weekend.

She is gorgeous-and you look really good too, you have that new mom softness and glow. I love it. :)

Beautiful; both of you....ALL of you! You are one of those people who heal-by-smiling! I honestly believe it; I think that when you smile, your body sees it, laughs along with you and starts to feel better! Not everyone has that gift; use it!

You look whole and healthy; I think I'll stop worrying now!

I love the pictures, especially the one of her by your shoe. The third one is definitely a smile, eh?

Gorg-e-ous. I love all those sleeping baby pics. Man, I wish we could have a little bit more of that around here. Eska is so pretty, and seriously, Joy, you look pretty good, too. I know you hurt, but hey, you look good!

By the way, I was talking to a friend today who had a c-section with her last baby. She told me that after the Vicodin was gone, she wasn't ready to done with the meds so her docs gave her something a little less strong, but it still worked. I think she said it was Tylenol with Codeine. That stuff is great stuff! I was mighty sad that I didn't have any on hand to deal with the afterpains this time. Perhaps your doc would give you some of that. Here's hopin'.

Good luck, and you are seriously on my mind all the time.

Love ya,
Kelley

Oh, Joy, she is such a beauty and you're not to shabby yourself!!! I love how she is totally concentrating on the stripes and serious in the first one. That smile is something to cherish. I miss new-baby everything.

Kelley "tylenol with codeine" I think Vicodin is itself hydrocodone compounded with acetaminophen... I know because we still have a few left from Peter's wisdom tooth extraction and boy, did a half dose knock out my wickedest PMS and headache LOL! maybe some brands have less of the codeine, but yep, it's still an opioid and as such it's still addictive both physically and psychologically, and not to be much messed around with... it's totally unfair I know.

I have some very serious info to pass on regarding midwives, home birth, & the scary midwifery/homebirth bill in the house. I am outraged & I'm sure you will be too!! I hope you pass it on as well! You can access it through my blog post today:

Congrats...You have a very expressive newborn! I never thought they had much perosnality that young, or smiled when they were only a few days old. But that picture of her on her back with her legs tucked up like she is kicking to swim- she is just cackling. Great pic beautiful baby.

Hope all of you are feeling strong soon, and wishing you as much sleep as possible.
